Lawn Mowing
Lawn care is our specialty. We offer weekly lawn mowing using high-quality, commercial lawn equipment. Plus, our blades are sharpened two to three times a week to provide a superior cut that is both crisp and clean. The service includes edging all sidewalks and driveways as well as trimming around all of the obstacles on your lawn. To finish the job, we blow the grass off all hard surfaces and out of your landscape beds.
Leaf Removal
Do you dread removing leaves from your lawn in the fall? If you give Nixa Lawn Service a call, we would be happy to sweep away those leaves using a combination of commercial leaf blowers (to blow leaves out of landscape beds and the corners of your lawn) and commercial lawn mowers (to vacuum up the leaves). Finally, we will haul all the leaves away so that you don’t have to dispose of them yourself. So sit back, relax, and watch those pesky leaves disappear.
Aerating
During aeration, we use a commercial core aerator to pull plugs of soil out of your lawn. This opens up air spaces in the soil, so that water, fertilizer, and air can penetrate the ground. This is especially important in areas with significant soil compaction issues, like the Ozarks, where grass roots often struggle to grow strong and deep. Compacted soil is especially common in new lawns that have been put down in the last ten years or so, because the heavy construction equipment and delivery trucks have packed down the soil. To combat this problem, aerate your lawn at least once a year (but preferably twice). When we aerate your lawn, we will also apply lime, because this is the best time to get it deep into the soil.
Overseeding
Overseeding typically occurs in the fall, after the hot and droughty summer has taken its toll. Our overseeding program begins with aeration to open and loosen the soil, preparing it for the seeds. If necessary, we will also remove thatch. Then, we plant high-quality grass seeds that have been selected and grown for our area. The seeds aren’t simply scattered or thrown over the ground; instead, we use a commercial seed planter to work the seeds down into the soil for better germination rates. Once the seeds have been planted, they must be kept wet for two weeks. Then, we taper off watering until the first frost occurs.
